Yuma, a DCG Company, Appoints Proven Crypto Founders Greg and Jeff Schvey to Lead Next Phase of Growth in Decentralized AI on Bittensor

Seasoned founders join Yuma to deepen infrastructure across the Bittensor network
STAMFORD, Conn., October 7, 2025
— Yuma, a DCG subsidiary dedicated to accelerating decentralized intelligence through the Bittensor network, today announced the expansion of its executive team with the appointments of Greg Schvey as Chief Operating Officer and Jeff Schvey as Chief Technology Officer. They are beginning their roles at a critical moment as Yuma scales its validator, mining, and subnet accelerator operations and prepares for the launch of an asset management business.
“Greg and Jeff are proven leaders who bring a rare blend of institutional infrastructure experience and startup grit, combined with hands-on experience in Bittensor,” said Barry Silbert, Founder and CEO of Yuma and Founder and CEO of DCG. “Their leadership will be pivotal as Yuma powers the next era of decentralized AI.”
Greg and Jeff, who began their careers in investment banking and missile defense, respectively, bring more than a decade of experience developing institutional-grade infrastructure that has shaped the crypto industry. Their website, The Genesis Block, was a leading voice in Bitcoin beginning in 2012. In 2013, they co-founded TradeBlock, the first institutional crypto portfolio management and data services platform, which was later acquired by DCG. Their most recent company, Axoni, built critical infrastructure for traditional financial markets, processing data for trillions of dollars of transactions annually, with their largest business unit acquired by the London Stock Exchange Group in 2024. DCG was an early investor in both ventures.
More recently, the Schveys have been active contributors to the Bittensor ecosystem, including the development of top-performing miners on various subnets, the technology for which will be incorporated into Yuma’s operations.
“Bittensor reminds me of the early days of Bitcoin – a relatively small group of passionate, brilliant people from around the world sprinting as fast as they can to develop a profoundly innovative network with the potential for massive impact,” said Yuma COO Greg Schvey. “My goal is to help empower this nascent ecosystem, and I couldn’t imagine a better place to do that than Yuma.”
“For the first time, we have an open network where people can freely compete to solve problems in machine intelligence and get immediately rewarded for their results. That unlocks a level of entrepreneurial freedom we’ve never seen,” said Yuma CTO Jeff Schvey. “Yuma is uniquely positioned to contribute to all aspects of the network, particularly as the need for institutional-grade infrastructure and products continues to grow.”
Since launching in November 2024, Yuma has emerged as a leading contributor to the Bittensor network through its subnet accelerator, validator operations, and in-house mining team. In 2025, Yuma onboarded eight institutional validator partners, including BitGo, Copper, and Crypto.com, and supported the launch of eight subnets from its accelerator program.
With the addition of the Schvey brothers, Yuma is strengthening its leadership to meet rising demand for technical depth and institutional-grade infrastructure on Bittensor. Their arrival underscores Yuma’s long-term commitment to shaping the future of decentralized intelligence.
